Terms of Use
Last updated November 2, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Ryan Wing Fung Cheng ("we", "us" or "our"), the operator of Trippeers, governing your use of the Trippeers mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. The Service and Eligibility
Trippeers enables groups to plan trips together, including suggesting and voting on ideas, building itineraries, recording shared costs and keeping trip details in one place. The Service is currently provided free of charge.
You must be at least 14 years of age to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your Account
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Trips, Hosts and Invitations
Each trip has one Organizer, who is the member who created it unless they hand that role to another member. Every member with an account may approve, schedule and skip ideas, edit trip details and the trip's plans, and manage guests. The Organizer may additionally remove members from the trip, change the trip's currency and other trip-wide settings, hand the Organizer role to another member, and delete the trip, which permanently deletes its content for all members. If the Organizer leaves the trip or deletes their account, the role passes to the longest-standing member.
Anyone with a trip's invite code or link can join that trip. You are responsible for sharing invite codes only with people you trust. If you add a guest (a person without an account), you confirm that the guest has agreed to their name being added.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of the ideas, comments, notes and other material you submit to the Service ("Your Content").
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display and transmit Your Content solely as necessary to operate the Service and make it available to the members of the trips to which you add it. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies retained temporarily in backups or that remain part of a shared trip's records, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it.
5. Acceptable Use
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. You agree not to use the Service to:
- post or share any content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable;
- post or share any material that sexually exploits or abuses a child, which we remove and report to the police and other authorities;
- promote, support or give instructions for terrorism or violent extremism;
- encourage or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- bully, intimidate or impersonate any person;
- disclose another person's private information without their consent;
- send spam, scams or misleading content;
- upload malicious code, or attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you;
- interfere with, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service, except to the extent permitted by law; or
- violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
6. Reporting, Blocking and Enforcement
You may report any idea or comment through its ••• menu in the app, and you may block any user from that menu or from their profile, so that you no longer see their ideas or comments. We review all reports promptly and aim to act on them within 24 hours. The app confirms that we have received your report, and we will email you to tell you what we did about it. We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these Terms, with or without notice.
If content shows a child being sexually exploited or abused, or a threat to someone's life or safety, we remove it straight away, keep a record of it, and report it to the police or the relevant authority. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first.
Other than reviewing reports, we do not actively monitor trips and are not responsible for content posted by users. However, we will take appropriate action when we become aware of content that violates these Terms.
7. Copyright Complaints
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content in the Service infringes your copyright, please email legal@trippeers.com with: your contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; a description of the content you believe is infringing and where it appears in the Service; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and your physical or electronic signature. We will review notices promptly, remove or disable access to infringing content where appropriate, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
8. Cost Tracking
The Service helps you record shared costs and track balances between members. It does not process payments, hold funds or act as a bank, money transmitter or payment service. Amounts, splits and currency conversions are estimates based on information entered by members and on third-party exchange rates, which may be delayed or inaccurate. You should verify all amounts before making any payment. Any arrangement to pay or settle a balance is solely between the members involved; we are not a party to it, and nothing in the Service constitutes financial advice.
9. Travel Information and Third-Party Services
The Service is a planning tool. We are not a travel agent and do not book or sell travel. You should confirm flight times, reservations, addresses and other details directly with the relevant airline, hotel or provider. Links to maps, calendars, booking websites and other third-party services are provided for convenience only; those services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them or for any trip, booking or activity.
10. Changes to the Service
We may modify, add or remove features, or suspend or discontinue the Service, at any time. We will endeavor to provide reasonable notice of material changes. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available or that data can always be recovered, so you should keep your own copies of important information, such as booking confirmations.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or where necessary for legal or safety reasons. Sections 4 (as it relates to shared trip records), 7, 8 and 11 to 14 survive the termination of your account.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information in it (including exchange rates and travel details) is accurate. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, money, bookings or enjoyment, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service or the content or conduct of other users. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed HK$100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Apple App Store Terms
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, you also acknowledge and agree that:
- these Terms are concluded between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"), and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app;
- in the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app;
- we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation;
- we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights;
- you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- you must comply with any applicable third-party terms, such as your wireless data service agreement, when using the app; and
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of them, will have the right to enforce them against you.
Your use of the app must also comply with the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong. If you use the Service as a consumer, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections, and any right to bring proceedings in your local courts, provided by the law of the place where you live.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date and, where changes are material, notify you within the app before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of them.
